Hmmm, okay, so I rode Billy yesterday. She's so adorable, I love her to bits!
So yeah, I guess I was expecting something different, just recalling the summer rides we had. I mean, I'd forgotten how kind of, quirky she is. Her trot is more like a jog, honestly she barely moves her legs and tracking up? Yeah right! But her sit trot has got to be the smoothest thing in the entire world, I swear to god. Anyways, so like I said, I'd forgotten things about her. So apparently I was collapsing my hip asking her to canter so she wasn't too thrilled about that, but once that got worked out we got the transitions. But her can'ter is so... um, different? It's way bigger than I'm used to, a 13 ft stride. I mean, even on Bugsy his canter isn't that big because I always kept him collected, so I just wasn't used to it and it didn't feel right, so I wasn't so comfortable.
Then we did a flying lead change exercise, just over some poles. I felt like a total retard, of course, because, well, I'm the only one in the group who's never actually done them in a lesson - I just taught myself. So of course Billy gets them, it's just that I feel like we're careening around the ring, which of course we're not but it's just that her canter's so much of a change.
So after the lesson Candice tells me I did good and stuff, of course, but that she thinks the reason that I feel so unbalanced (which I just realized was true) is just because of her shape. Which is wierd, because last week she said Zack was too nary, and this week she's saying that Billy's too wide, but Bugsy's way fatter than Billy and I do fine on him... I dunno, my legs are retarded. I don't even try to figure it out anymore, just deal with it. Hah.
